GAMES, WEB3, AI & BLOCKCHAIN – FAMILIAR FACES WITH NEW OPPORTUNITIES
Alongside our colleagues from KölnBusiness Wirtschaftsförderung, we attended CONF3RENCE in Dortmund, an event organized by SOLV3 that has long established itself as a central European meeting point for Web3, AI, blockchain, the metaverse, as well as AR and VR.
CONF3RENCE impressively demonstrated how closely the games industry is linked to these technologies. Many concepts currently discussed under buzzwords like Artificial Intelligence or Web3 have been present in gaming for years. Intelligent game systems, virtual economies, and early blockchain experiments show that games have long served and continue to serve, as a testing ground for technological innovation
At the same time, it became clear that the exchange works both ways. In times of increasing pressure to innovate, it pays to look beyond one’s own horizon. What impulses from other tech sectors can propel games forward? And what experiences from game development can inspire other industries?
For us, CONF3RENCE was exactly that: an exciting place for learning, exchange, and networking.
